In February 2022, DiPiero Simmons McGinley & Bastress, PLLC will support The HospiceCare Tennis Tournament and The Friends of Marshall University Tennis Tournament.
The 24th Annual HospiceCare Tennis Tournament will take place February 11-13, 2022 at the Charleston Tennis Club in Charleston, WV. The proceeds from this regional event will benefit patients and families served by the HospiceCare organization. This annual fundraiser features two days of doubles tennis matches and local food favorites for spectators. Players interested in participating the event may register on the United States Tennis Association (USTA) event webpage.
HospiceCare is the oldest and largest provider of hospice, palliative, and bereavement services in the state of West Virginia. The organization has supported individuals and their families through hospice care for over 40 years in 16 counties. Their services include in-home care, assisted living and nursing facilities, and hands-on care in four in-patient facilities. HospiceCare’s Wallace Grief Support & Education Center offers emotional care to those diagnosed with a serious or terminal illness, and supports families through bereavement services for twelve months after the loss of a loved one.
The Friends of Marshall University Tournament will be held February 25-27, 2022 at the YMCA in Charleston, WV. Organizers, participants, and sponsors like DiPiero Simmons McGinley & Bastress, PLLC are pleased to help the tournament celebrate its 31st year, after the event was interrupted for the past two years due to COVID-19 safety concerns. Marshall University alumnus Martha Hill will continue to serve as Tournament Director as she has in years past. Tournament proceeds are donated toward a scholarship endowed through the Marshall University Foundation benefitting a student from the Kanawha Valley. Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia serves nearly 12,000 students and is regularly involved in community charity events.
